One of the issues that seems to be at the forefront of most unschooler's minds, is the topic of community or "tribe". I've read about viewpoints of grown unschoolers who say that was one things they would have changed, they wish they'd had more unschoolers to be around regularly.
Since the Live and Learn and Rethinking Education conferences take place this time of year (early September) this topic is on my mind a lot.
What does it feel like to be surrounded by unschoolers compared to more mainstream families?
If you live near other unschoolers, describe some gatherings or your (or your children's) relationships with these other families.
If you don't have unschoolers near you, what kind of people do you surround yourself with?
If you started a local support group talk about how that works (or doesn't work) and the ways people can find success by starting their own support network.
Some people live in unschooling communities...give us a glimpse of how things unfold in such a group.
There is talk of starting intentional communities in some groups right now, share what is going on with that!
OR
If you are attending either Live and Learn or Rethinking Ed this year, please share a post all about your experiences with THAT!:)
And just fer fun....share some Halloween fun your family partakes in! A recipe or past pictures or anything you think would give us inspiration for the upcoming fesitivies.
Remember, no need to blog about ALL of the above! These are just a series of ideas and prompts to get ya started. Share whatever inspires YOU.:)
