Hi! I was there with my 3 year old dd (the one wearing butterfly wings and a pirate bandanna at the costume ball.)
I had a great time, although it was a real challenge for me being there without my husband (and 3 months pregnant.) I didn't get to do much or listen to many talks, but I liked soaking up the atmosphere, and seeing people I've been reading about online. I also met people with children my dd's age whom I hope to see again at conferences in the future.

My husband, Walter, son Evan, and daughter Maia came with me. We had a fabulous time. My husband has changed from tolerating to supporting radical unschooling. Now he is working on changing his choice of words to be more respectful towards the kids. We are almost sad to be home!

I would love to hear more details from some of you who went.....lots of details would be great, like a journal entry type comment would be great, no pressure though, :) I would have loved to have gone!!!

Ren's blog carnival is on this topic this time, isn't it? So if anybody does do journaling on the conference, that's a good place to put a link to it so others can drop by and read it! :D

i was so excited that scotty got to come with us!! it has opened his eyes wide. especially getting to be involved with the other dads and ssuds (secret society of unschooling dads). we were laughing and talking yesterday while eating lunch and i looked at him and smiled and said how amazing it was that he got to be a part of the conversation in a way he never gets to when we come back from get togethers. he's in on all the jokes and the stories...which is just too wonderful for words. he has always been supportive of RU but i think he gets it even more now...in practice more so now than just theory. getting to soak up all the other unschooler energy was good for him!!! and to know we're not alone!!!

Yes please!:)

I'm still going through my whole processing/analyzing thing that happens after each conference. There are so many rich connections and amazing things that happen every time. This one was especially intense for me for many reasons.

One of them being that I got to share this very important part of my life with several LOCAL families!! That was huge. I found this conference to be deeply emotional with lots of lighthearted, silliness thrown in (as usual).

I think one of the highlights was singing Bohemian Rhapsody like a rock star with everyone at the masquerade ball, than falling down on the floor laughing like crazy people afterwards. That was SO hilarious!

It was really cool to have a round table discussion with Anne, who was one of my inspirations in the early days. I had a great time pointing out Laura, because of this network. People kept going "OH, That's HER!" :) It was pretty cool.

I miss my tribe already, but I know the next gathering is just around the corner! Anyone that doesn't know about ARGH, you can join the group here or our Yahoogroup to find out what is being planned. The next gathering is Nov. 2nd and 3rd.

We were there! We're still (kinda) there! Re-entry is (blessedly) slow. This was our second conference, and we were much more comfortable this year reaching out of our personal bubble and initiating conversations, making friends, being ourselves. We were happy to get home to our own beds and our own kitchen (no tray or line nazis here), but now I crave a post-conference gathering just to share thoughts and impressions. Thank the gods and goddesses (that's you, Laura!) for this site.

We were there too...Rebecca, hubby Matthew, and 3 yr. old Quinn. We just got home this afternoon since we were driving all the way back to Colorado. The long drive was actually great family time. When else do you have that much uninterrupted time to talk?! The way back was more fun, because we had so much to discuss. :)

The conference was incredible. We felt like we only touched the tip of the iceberg of all that was offered! It was challenging at times, since Quinn was uncomfortable with crowds and absolutely uncomfortable in the cafeteria. Matthew and I took turns going to the talks, and we spent a lot of time at the playground and far more time in our room than intended. The whole atmosphere was great though, and we look forward to getting to know everyone better at future conferences. As others have commented, my husband took a lot from the conference. He is very excited about unschooling and is really thinking about his interactions with Quinn in a fresh way.

We went! I was so happy to see the TN folks...and to know we will be getting together at ARGH! The conferences have played a huge role in our unschooling lives. We always walk away with some life-changing tidbit.
