What I learned on Learn Nothing Day

My friend Ren set up this awesometastic party at Rock Creek in East Tennessee. There was lots of swimming in the very cold pool which is runoff from the mountain, and critter catching, a huge array of food, and altogether good times. We ultimately failed to learn nothing, of course, though we tried.

What I learned:

My little pal Tyler (7) is the best crawdad catcher in the land, and he exercises a voodoo power over them.
We have a VERY large species of beetle in these parts.
Laura cringes at VERY large beetles crawling on her children.
VERY large beetles are to be named "Goliath."
I figured out that I could probably learn stuff laying in bed all day.

I learned a lot about my friends, and their kids, and my kids. And I met some new people. How can you learn nothing when you're meeting new people??? First come the names, then the ages of their children, and the fact that one of their children is really into carrying around a bottle of Hershey's syrup to squirt into her mouth. I mean, really.
