Radical Unschoolers Network

the network for radical unschooling families

Sorry, but it's seriously making me twitch. The apostrophe should be after the word 'Unschoolers', not before the S. An apostrophe does not mean 'Hey look, there's an S coming!' The network belongs to multiple radical unschoolers; therefore it's a radical unschoolers' network. Can it please be fixed? It's not about 'giving a bad impression of unschoolers' or anything like that, although that may be a concern for folks; it's just that it's terrible grammar, it's way too common these days, and it makes me TWITCH. And I can't possibly be the only one.

Also, by the way, this category has a typo. 'Radicual' isn't a word. ;)

Or it could be a network for any radical unschooler, so that would be a singular. You know, like "The Parent's Guide to..."
Is that really how it was intended, though? That's not how I interpreted it at all when I saw it initially.
I think it should have no apostrophe - a network of plural unschoolers, rather than a possesive jmho!
i caught that category typo this morning already. it's one i always make as my fingers anticipate the upcoming U in unschoolers. always always happens and sometimes i forget to catch it. sorry for the multiple twitches you're having!

i thought a lot about the apostrophe too when creating the name. i was thinking of it on an individual basis. as in it is a network for the radical unschooler. but being ABOUT socializing in a group format, it probably should be plural and not singular.

believe me, i know where you're coming from. i too twitch at grammatical errors all the time (especially my own)...which is why i was debating the name myself a little more than i'd like to admit, because i've been accused of being anal about as much as you probably have...LOL!!!!!

i'll bet my disdain for the shift key makes you nuts too!! sorry
that was one way i considered as well. it's funny how much thinking goes into just naming something.
Eats, Shoots and Leaves....I have to agree with Michael on this... as well as seeing Laura's point of view. I also think it makes a difference when googling for unschoolers' or unschooler's.

If the site is for a group, it should belong to the group, and therefore, would make more grammatical sense for it to be s'.
okay okay, you've swayed my vote!!!!
this is why i love you.
I'm with Nisi, this conversation makes me twitch...reminds me to much of school...giggle.
oh snap!
Yeah, but *I* learned something because I had to go research proper use of the apostrophe.:)
I think we don't have to hang onto all that school baggage when exploring grammar. It can just be another interesting part of our world now.
Thanks Ren ... that's what I wanted to say, but I couldn't quite find the words! Learning about grammar isn't schooly; just because school talks about X doesn't mean X is Bad (tm). Grammar is useful, numbers are useful (although I'm not a physicist, so I haven't found a use for calculus quite yet!), music is useful, basketball is useful, geology is useful ... etc. :) And it can be fun when the baggage doesn't come with it!
