I'm looking for vegetable seeds or sets suitable for planting now - I'm in TN, so greens, garlic, onions, or anything that does well in a cold frame.

The catch is, I don't have seeds or sets to swap. I have fabrics and yarn. Theoretically I could barter a quilt or knit item (I like to make applique quilts based on children's artwork). I have a largish latch hook rug kit of a lion (never opened). I may have some wood available for turning or carving.

We have been living with a soaked bathroom floor because our toilet flange/bowl ring is broken. I took up all the tile. The wood is wet. My husband has lost use of some of his left arm from the stroke he had and is afraid that he will not be able to do the job and we don't have any money for a plumber or what is involved to buy wood,a saw and toilet parts. The wood was drying when we stopped using the toilet and used a bucket.(I know, gross and buried outside) so,every time we flush the floor gets wetter and more rotten/mold. The tub is another story. It too is holey, rusty. It is a very small bathroom. The only one we have. Our house will be paid off in 18 months but i don't think the bathroom will wait that long. We don't know of anyone around here that could help him with the job,he tried asking a few guys. They are busy themselves. Gosh, this is embarrasing to write.

Can anyone help us, Either with ideas, people or places? I am pretty sure i can take up the wood floor myself and borrow a saw if we had the means to buy the parts.
I can show pics if anyone wants to see and/or if anyone with wood/plumbing skills has advice.

My husband says if you ask at Home Depot or Lowes the workers can probably tell you what you'd need to buy. Maybe you could buy a little at a time...that way you'd be that much closer to being able to fix it. The library may have How-To books on fixing/remodeling bathrooms which should cover what needs to be done.

I wish we were closer...I asked DH if someone had XXXproblem if he could help them, and he said he could, and would, and where are they and I said Florida and he blanched. lol It would be a bit of a drive.

You can check with your local Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints (LDS) - let them know that you need help with the lifting, etc. and they will find someone to help. It is pretty amazing...

I am happy that even though we are going through a rough/tight time that I got Lukas plenty of everything, legos, knex, computer software, books, toys and more from thrift stores way before this poor time came. He is happy and rich. :)

Hi, Heather, I'm sorry you are dealing with this now. If you let the wood dry up, it'll probably be fine and you can put linoleum or tile down at a later date. If it's just the wax ring on the toilet, it's not a big deal, you can probably do the lifting part with some help from your husband's right arm. Here's a website that tells about replacing the ring. The rings are cheap, like 5 bucks I think. http://www.ehow.com/how_15276_replace-toilets-wax.html

If it's more than just the ring there are lots of good references on the web that will walk you through it. You may be able to get a used toilet on craigslist.com and replace the whole thing, it's not too hard. Try not to get overwhelmed; I know the feeling as I lived all last summer in Florida with no air conditioner. Hope things turn around for you in the new year.
Hugs.

I gave the CD's to a mom who had a clean, smoke free twin mattress that we needed so that trade worked out. :)
would someone like the playstation 2 game call of duty: finest hour? I bought it for my husband but he doesn't like it.

Let us know how it goes. How far is Scottsmoor from Tampa? If you need help I am just west of Tampa. I haven't been timely in following my ning, but I am catching up now.
