the network for radical unschooling families

Looking to meet others in my area

I'd like to meet some families in my area who do Radical Unschooling. I live in Northern Virginia, close to DC. Anyone have some thoughts about how I go about doing that? I'm on an Unschooling list serve, but when I asked about meeting radical unschoolers I didn't get any positive reactions. Thanks for any tips or thoughts.

Bonnie, you might try asking in the "Virginia RUNners" group or the "DC and Baltimore area" group and see if there's anyone in your area.

Also, do you know this page of links:

Nothing listed as Virginia or DC specifically, but several groups in that general area: unschoolers and others, delmarva unschoolers, Baltimore and mid Atlantic unschoolers. You may not find anyone in your back yard! Expect day trips at the least to visit other unschoolers and more often you'll connect a couple times a year at larger gatherings. Unschooling is a minority within a minority group and radical unschoolers are a minority of That. The nearest radical unschoolers to me are about four hours away.
