Need connections for a friend

I have a friend who is a single parent with a 14 year old son who has been in and out of school for years now. She knows about unschooling from me and agrees in theory, now she's at the point of trying it in practice.

Her son has had some difficulties with mood disorders and was also diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. She would like to email with someone who is familiar with these particular traits. I was wondering if there is anyone here who is a seasoned unschooler and has traveled a path similar to this. I think she's focusing on the special needs and can't see past it. She's heard a lot from me, but she's open to chatting with others.

I'm not a "seasoned unschooler" by any stretch, but your description of her son could just as easily be a description of me as a teen - and I learned an awful lot during my time going in and out of school, despite all my difficulties. I'd love to talk to her, I think I could probably help her.

After three years, I'm starting to wonder (and despair) if I'll ever be a seasoned RU'er, but I am an unschooler AND I have a nearly 14 yo with aspergers. He was even in school for five years, so I know all about getting THAT out of your system, esp the special needs part.
