Anybody else out there a Chef Wannabe? Was anyone else delighted that the Foo Fighters happened to be on last week? Really couldn't ask for much more than a great rock band, with a fabulous lead man, and those amazing chefs.

Mary and I are big fans, though I got kinda pissed off last week when surfer boy (I don't remember his name--the blond arrogant guy) wheeled out a dish using muhammara. That's my signature dish that I've been making for ~8 years and using at our cafe for the past five. The stuff is awesome and easy to make, but no one has ever heard of it.
They sure do have a lot of catering and catering-like challenges. I'm trying to remember if this is really any different from past seasons. Maybe I just finally noticed it.

Also thought it was lucky Ariane had immunity this week.
Yeah, I thought it was insightful of my new husband, Tom Colicchio, when he pointed out they weren't playing to win, they were playing to not be eliminated.

Early on, I picked Stefan to go all the way - but last season I picked Antonia, so what do I know? I usually really enjoy Padma on the show, but this season, not so much.
I love Top Chef. I too liked Antonia last season. I never pick the winners either. lol

This season I love Fabio. Love his accent. I liked how he approached the tv demo. He kept it simple. Chefs aren't watching morning tv. People like his mom are. And if his mom can't find or don't know what the ingredients are they aren't going to make the dish. Oh and he's cute too. lol
Last year by the last 6 I was thinking it was between Stephanie and Blais. I was surprised Lisa got so far, but I'm not a chef and I'm not a TV producer, so I don't know how these things really happen.

I was so sorry when the "s'mores guy" "spit" on the Foo Fighter's dessert. LOL. All my kids and I really liked him and just wanted him to stay because he was, well, cool and grounded. Richard? Right?

Like you, Stormmie, I'm enjoying many of the chefs. There's not one I'd like to take a knife too, yet. LOL.
Maybe you could put on your menu, "My signature dish - borrowed and made famous by Jeff, the surfer-boy on Top Chef" (or maybe just a simple "As Seen on TV!")
Wow! Ariane is really surprising me! She keeps winning or at least coming out in the top 3. At first I was annoyed by Toby, I thought he was just trying to show how witty he could be, but at the end, he seemed to have settled down and was giving honest, helpful opinions.

Fabio is very, very funny - I really enjoy hearing what he has to say.
I don't remember anyone keeping up with Ariane in past seasons except for maybe Blais, and he didn't win. She does blow me away and she's seems to be such a wonderful person - or at least she's edited that way.

My son (almost 16) thinks Fabio is too cool and has to make it to the final 3 (or 4).

The new judge is Toby, right? I thought a couple comments fell flat, but the rest were completely funny. Once he settles in he's gonna be a hoot. I loved it when Colicchio said, "How do you follow that?" after one of Toby's dry remarks. LOL.
