They were under the Duval county Home Education for a year. But now I'm interested in unschooling. I contacted you from the website Unschooling United. What are the requirements for the -umbrella schools, cost and the law in Duval county.

I'm in Jacksonville (Arlington area near JU). I was so happy to find unschooling. I don't run into many home schoolers who take this route. I use workbooks, books, computer (including time4learning), garden, Cub Scouts, shopping, cooking and netflix. If it adds to our fun and enjoyment of learning we use it. If we don't like learning then we must be doing something wrong.
The one area I feel we do something wrong in is trying to find people. Even when we were in a home school group we just didn't blend. Maybe it is our learning technique?

I'm wishing to find more friends around Jacksonville who enjoy unschooling.

I'm near St. Augustine, rural Elkton area.

I used the umbrella homeschool group Florida Unschoolers (listed as a private school on the Florida Dept. of Education and can be found under Martin County) Florida Unschoolers is a statewide private school option. It is a free/no cost private school option.

There is Jax unschool group that meets. I just joined this group and haven't meet in person with anyone yet. They can be found in the yahoo groups. I will check the name if you are interested with meeting other unschoolers in person.
