That's great! Thanks for the info everyone, I really appreciate it and I am in the process of getting it all taken care of. I am so nervous I feel like I'm breaking the law.. lol. I never knew there was a relaxed homeschool method like this.. and I'm pretty sure we will all enjoy the change! :)

Hey Jill! We also use Florida Unschoolers. She makes our life easy! Its an umbrella school and all you have to do is send her your basic information and the number of days you've been "in school" quartlerly, I believe (my husband does it). She emails you reminders and that's all there is to it. Keeps everything legal.

Maggie, we live in Port St. Lucie, which is about an hour north of you, if you're ever interested in meeting up sometime!

Easy. I would definately recommend. Haven't posted in a while............we are in Pompano Beach, anyone here in South Fl? Loving our unschooling life, Maggie

Hi Jill,

We used the evaluation method our first year, and quickly went looking for another path. Now we use Florida Unschoolers and are VERY happy with it.

Good luck!

Hi Jill,

We live in Florida and use AEI (alternative Education Institute).  Everything is done on-line.  Very easy and affordable.  Check there site out:

let me know if you have any questions about them.

good luck!

Hi, I live in Lee county Florida.. in the Cape Coral area. I have just started learning about unschooling and I have to say it sounds way better than the homeschool thing, which I've been doing for years! Because of state law I have to file paperwork every single day, and I end up with about 20 pounds of paperwork at the end of each school year! If I do not save it and log it, and then turn it over for evaluation, then my sons will fail and they have to be sent to school. I am wondering what type of method do you use to stay withing state law while not bogging your children down with the same tedious routine everyday like I do.. lol. I would love to be able to lessen the workload and expand the time they spend exploring nature and their own interests and hobbies.

Hey All-

We live in Jupiter and we have a small group of secular and relaxed homeschoolers that is based out of Stuart.

Hello everyone! Just joined the site and this group. I am so thrilled to finally discover other Unschoolers. My kids and I have felt so isolated since we began last year and I am really looking to make some friends for us. I live in Port St. Lucie currently and I have 3 children: Charlotte 7, Julian 6, and Lucy 2.

I don't know where Palm Harbor is exactly but we're right on the Sarasota/Manatee county line.
