I'd send you some clay (though how workable it is right now remains to be seen - I have almost 16 month old twins that put a short [hopefully!] break to my clay-play) but I'm not sure it would survive the trip back here to be fired in the kiln!

Actually, "real" clay is very cheap, less than $20 for 50 lbs. Which is why I switched from polymer clay! It's the kiln that's expensive, and the glazes....but if you know someone who works in clay, the amount for a chicken ocarina would be pennies and I'm sure they'd love to see you enjoy making one!
