Comment by Ramona King on December 31, 2012 at 2:41pm Tobia, I would love to connect with you. l have one teenager, though like his syblings he's more like a young adult. he's 18...I guess that's not the same as 10. ...would love to chat about teen experiences while homeschooling. I may have some helpful thoughts and ideas. Right now, I'm working on the new relationship I have with them as fellow adults. It's not too weird...especially since our past experiences have been about honestly communicating with one another.
Comment by Ramona King on December 31, 2012 at 2:35pm Hmmm. I don't see how I can reply to each comment here. Darcel...all three children slept in the bed with me and my husband. My husband and I purchased a bed for our daughter when she was about 4 years old. He and I took turns sleeping in the bed with her. I'll never forget the way my husband one night returned to our room in 10-min after he went into the room to sleep with our daughter. He had such a gloomy sad look on his face. I asked him, what happened. He said, "She told me to leave. That I was crowding her bed." Our cue that she likes the quiet solitude of her own space...though for a while she would return to our room to sleep with us when she wanted the communal warmth of mom and dad's bed. ...and had I to do it again, I would still have a family bed.
My kids are all under 10
Comment by Tobia White on November 20, 2012 at 2:50pm Would love to connect with anyone that has teenagers. I have thirteen yr old son. This is our first year of homeschooling and would love to meet you.
Comment by Darcel on May 28, 2012 at 10:05am @Ifasayo ... I believe the concept of unschooling is not being locked in to scheduled and predetermined guidelines by the system but rather catering to the learning styles and needs of each individual child and find what best fits your household... someone correct me if I am wrong.
