I make artist trading cards, but other than that, I guess I am more crafty than arty. Maybe I should make a crafty group? I sew. I like to use/recycle things I find in the thrift store. Pillowcases make great kids pants or skirts or dresses or bags or aprons...
I draw, paint, play music...but right now I mostly weave, and make things from the woven cloth.

I make scarves and scarflettes (alongside my eldest dd, lucia 21y), tops and skirts, and right now I am dreaming about felting our handwovens and making little sculptured objects...dunno, mushrooms, animals, people...
i adore recycling, or "upcycling" things. I find this to be a very creative act!
i like to dabble in a lot of different mediums. my heart wants to one day get back to doing welded metal sculpture and bronze casting...one day one day.

i like to do illustration with colored pencil and chalks, a little painting sometimes, jewelry making, cork knitting and sometimes "real" knitting, i am getting ready to make some glass pendant necklaces using my illustrations.

i have often had trouble with calling myself an artist. i tend towards just thinking of myself as a person who likes to make things.

i find that i am always being pulled in many creative directions. like i can't stick with one thing long enough to really master it!! artistic ADD!!
I'm a bit off of art at the moment. But I've been really into knitting and sewing the last couple of years. I started embroidering awhile back but haven't done much of anything in the ::visual:: arts in a bit. I always get like this in the summer.

But I've been writing songs, natch. And I think that counts.
I'm definitely more crafty than artsy. I sew stuff, mostly garments right now, and I think at least some of it can qualify as "art-to-wear". quilts sometimes. a while back I participated in one of imaginationtribe's atc exchanges with batik quilted cards. I also do lots of crochet esp. in winter, and dabble in beaded jewelry, tie-dye, wreathmaking. A very long time ago (in college) I was determined to make pottery for a living. I was pretty good at it, but then I had a kid, and the budget for a pottery studio paid for the homebirth. ;) I miss it, but I'm just as passionate about sewing now.
Mostly I like painting, and in college I dabbled in lots of things I'd like to do more with *someday* ---that time in the magical future. Working with clay and anything 3D is something I adore... metals.. for some reason sawing that stuff is strangely relaxing, wood carving.. I have been dying to get into that for some time with white oak -- it just carves so well it's crazy. Jewelry making or just anything that puts all kinds of media together in a way that looks useful but doesn't have to be. I have a metal thing I made with a hinge that has steps in it. It has zero utility except for meditation maybe.

That's another thing. I like to make little shrines that don't look like obvious shrines. Miniatures of any kind are another favorite.

oh those are really cool, thanks for sharing. i have always loved coloring. i love to make a design and then use a sharpie to draw the lines nice and dark like a coloring book and then go at it with colored pencils or something else. it's so relaxing to just fill in those spaces with color.
I'm another "ATCer", (is that a word?) I don't have tons of space and we're on the go often, so ATCs are the perfect portable art. I enjoy using oil pastels, Sharpies, colored pencils & paints. Bring on lots of color and mess, and I'm happy! I've been trying to learn the art of stamp carving too since we Letterbox.
My main interest is in the area of jewelry making---specifically bead weaving. I also enjoy painting, sewing, pottery, music (singing--writing) I will attempt to create through any medium if it interests me...
stamp carving is a lot of fun. i found that using my lino-cutter on one of those white erasers was a great way to get started making stamps.
Oh what a great idea!
