Hello!

I am a big book addict, and am always looking for another good read. I look forward to talking about that passion.

Hey - I just read Captains Courageous by Rudyard Kipling. Little rich boy gets his comeuppance and learns valuable life lessons — in an unschooling manner. 5 stars! Anyone else read it? Erik

Someone on a list suggested the Elf Quest Series of manga/anime books. My son is inhaling them! Fortunately we have found many in our library system, but may have to supplement that though.

I am reading "Twilight" and love it. My 15 year old is on the second book.

Books I love: The Amber series of novels by Roger Zelazny, I have read some William Gibson, Stainless Steel Rat, Hitchhiker's, pretty much anything by Peter David. I recently read Knight Life and loved it. Need to read the rest of the series. My favorite old King Arthur series is The Crystal Cave ....I can't remember the names of the other books, but I think the author was Stewart.
Classics I love include Uncle Tom's Cabin, Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, Anne of Green Gables, Little House, .....things like that.

I love the first 3 vampire novels by Anne Rice. Have read the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Enjoy the Harry Potter series (haven't finished it yet)...

Lately I have been reading a lot of tech books (photoshop, computer, knitting, crochet) and crafting books. Although I have gotten to read the Leven Thumps novels (first 2) and started Stormbreaker. I haven't read a mystery in a while, I used to love Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes. I got into the Patricia Cornwall Scarpetta series too. So I have an eclectic taste in books as well.. I have read almost every genre. I don't like romance novels though.

SOOOO many books, so little time. I'd like to wipe my memory and read for the first time again: "Atlas Shrugged," "Callahan's Crosstime Saloon," "Cold Sassy Tree," "Hitchhiker's Guide," "Mists of Avalon" and so many more.

The Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner is excellent. I think they are technically a young adult books; the first book was a Newberry Honor book. I didn't discover them until this year and I really enjoyed them, especially the main character. Lots of other great books, but I wanted to mention that one as I hadn't seen the series mentioned so far.

Kim & I just read the entire Twilight series, too. We heard that the 4th book was coming out & then one of Kim's friends mentioned that she loved the series. So, in just two weeks, we read the first 3 books so that we could be ready for the 4th. We even went to the midnight "Vampire Prom" at our local Barnes & Noble to pick up the book, Breaking Dawn.
