Hey Rynalee - FYI

There is an alternative "school" in North Vancouver, called "The Windsor House School", which is public (read FREE), and has been in operation for about 40 years, that is essentially an "unschooling school". It is democratic and self organizing. No classes, but lectures are offered if kids are interested (many are). No grades. A great place for kids to meet friends and work on their individual passions. Can get a high school diploma working with staff if they can together craft a CV of sorts that shows how what they do naturally meets more traditional educational criteria. Hi, we're an Aussie unschooling family investigating the possibility of living and working overseas for a year next year. B.C. Is one of the possibilities on our list. Our kids are 9, 12, 15 & 18 and into country life and animals (youngest), technology (12yo), skateboarding and cafe culture (15yo currently working as a barista and who will hope to do that o/s), and a hotchpotch pitch of things (18yo who may only come for part of trip and would hope to get some labouring work to earn money). Sell me on B.C.??? Many unschoolers?
