An unschooling conference is coming to CA! Sept 10-13, 2009 in San Diego- mark your calendars.

The speaker line-up includes four of our own: Pam Sorooshian, Roya Sorooshian, Jeff Sabo and Erika Perkins. Other special personalities include Sandra Dodd, Miranda Demarest and Beth Fuller. Are you excited yet?!

The website has just been updated with more details. You can now reserve your hotel room directly through the link on our conference website. I recommend booking early to be sure you get a room.

As events are confirmed, I'll be adding them to the website, so check back often. I'm looking forward to making this the unschooling conference California has been waiting for!

I am so excited to announce that Registration for the Good Vibrations Unschooling Conference is now open!

Head on over now to take advantage of special Early Bird pricing. Registration gives you access to four full days of presentations, discussions, funshops and special events, a conference bag and a program. Children under age 3 are always free as are grandparents who are warmly welcomed.

In our store, you'll find a few really cool items that you might not have expected. Hints: A new unschooling book by which of our favorite unschooling writers? And a lesson that embodies SoCal style. Drop them into your cart with your registration!

This conference is shaping up to be a fun mix of unschooling goodness. Our line-up includes your favorite veterans such as Sandra Dodd and Pam Sorooshian as well as sparkly new voices that you will love. We'll kick things off with a day at the beach and wind down with a farewell dance. For everything in between, you'll have to pop over to the website for more details! Lots of unschooling inspiration, excitement and friendship-making await.

Information being added as it becomes available so be sure to check in often.

Our hotel is the centrally-located Doubletree Hotel San Diego/Del Mar. If you haven't reserved your room yet, I highly encourage you to not delay. September is a beautiful time of the year here in San Diego. Hotel rooms could sell out and you won't want to be commuting to the conference from other hotels.

Join the yahoo group to be notified of updates and to make plans with other attendees. As always, if there are any questions, please ask them on the yahoo group or email me directly at flogascon@hotmail.com. Feel free to pass this email along to other groups you belong to to spread the word.

Thank you for being an enthusiastic part of this conference's inauguration! Here's to exciting times to come!

Warmly~

We're getting excited in San Diego as the conference is shaping up a little more every day! If you have an idea for a funshop or a chat, let's make it happen. Submission forms are available on the website:

Hazel Donovan, a 16 year old unschooler, contortionist and aspiring ASL interpreter, will be hosting this cool funshop:

TEAM TWILIGHT

Twilighter, Twi-Hard, Twiholic, Fanpire? Does Edward dazzle you, or do you wish Jacob would hurry up and imprint on you? Come and congregate with other Twilight saga addicts and discuss everything about the Twilight book series. Talk to someone who has traveled to Forks-WA, met Stephenie Meyer twice, seen the movie over 6 times, and been named "Twilight's Ultimate Fan" by multiple websites.

Provided: Photos and items from Forks, La Push, and Port Angeles will be viewable. Trivia contests and other games will be in full swing. Twilight merchandise and souvenirs to be won!

Please bring: Feel free to wear any Twilight gear/clothing you own. Please come knowing that if you have NOT read all four books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn), that there will be spoilers!

We were talking about the Geek-A-Palooza just now. Is there a way to connect with others planning on attending that funshop? My son is planning on bringing his Bone books, plus other stuff…

Yes! On the conference discussion list: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GoodVibrationsConference/

Someone was talking about this funshop the other day, I think.

Thanks! Sorry it took so long to see this. I guess I'm not set up to receive alerts when someone responds to a discussion reply… Will poke around the site.

Also trying to figure out the gaming room. Is there really going to be a way to play Wii games? What exactly do we need to pack? I'm thinking controllers, games… but not Wii units or TVs (I hope)… Is there someone I should get in contact about that?
