Unschoolers interested in Sudbury education

Hello,

 

There is a strong possibility our family may move to within 20 miles of North Pomona by January of this year.  I am looking for a strong network of unschoolers to connect with.

 

Our three children, ages 13, 11, and, 5 currently attend Fairhaven School, a Sudbury School in Upper Marlboro, MD.  Sudbury Schools are basically schools for unschooled children with staff support.  Our children are thriving, largely because they have other children to play with all day within a structured environment created by school meeting and the judicial committee.  Both my husband and I need/want to work so we would love to connect with other unschoolers who might like to have a conversation about unschooling together on a regular basis.

 

I am most concerned about my 5-year-old son, Ansel, as I can't imagine him in a classroom.  He is a very well-behaved and respectful child who loves to play all day with his friends at school.  They play on the playground, build forts, watch sticks float downstream, play with legos, balloons, and balls, etc. 

 

We are very open to finding ways to work with other parents, including possibly hiring/supporting a Sudbury intern to provide support.
