Heidi, the longer we stay on the road, the more dispensable EVERYTHING becomes (except the kids). We've replaced many things that we started out with and have lightened our loads as we've gone along. We have five small children, and we travel now with virtually NO toys. They play with other peoples' toys or whatever they find. The most important things are headtorches -- buy the best -- and a good attitude!

Hello, I would like to ask for some advice and info. At this time, I, like so many other working professionals, am losing my house. We are attempting a short sale on our home. So, we began considering the feasiblity of "hitting the road". I currently work online and we homeschool our daughters. Talk about an opportunity presenting itself. Of course, the fear sets in.  We would have a base address in New Jersey, but not a house. We would sell/store our "stuff".

So, I am asking for any advice; is there anything you wish you had been told when you were considering living on the road in an RV?

Any words of wisdom or food for thought would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, I just joined this group because my husband and I are thinking of living overseas for 12 months or more next year. We have been thinking we would base ourselves in the UK because of its proximity to some European countries we'd love to visit, but a couple of people I know who've lived there are turning me off the idea lol. Mainly because it's such an expensive country to live in,

We plan to have a home base, and my husband will work, a combination of nursing and mental health lecturing. My kids are aged from 9-18 and the teens definitely want accessibility to things like skate parks etc.

Anyone want to recommend a country or area lol?

I am also looking for a new home / community for me and my son since I don't have much family and my ideals are not well received where I currently live.

I love browsing www.ic.org (the directory of  intentional communities worldwide) .

Specifically, what are the key spots you would recommend we visit??

Not sure if I made my question very clear...sorry.

Hello all!

We are seriously thinking about going on the road this summer for 2 reasons; to see the country (USA) and find a place we can settle in and call "home". What are the TOP places we have to put on our list as unschoolers?!

Thanks a ton!

What do you do for money while on the road?  It seems really tempting but I fear the lifestyle a little bit
