Six Flags Home School Day (a question for Northerners)

Has anyone ever done the Six Flags Home School Day? I just got the mailer today, and the deadline to order early bird tickets is tomorrow. The event is Thursday, August 28th.

The last time I went to Six Flags I was childless. I think my boys, ages almost 13 & almost 10 would enjoy it, but I have no idea if this is worth the cost of $30 a ticket per person. Is it crowded? I see the hours are only from 10:00am to 5:00pm. I thought they were open later in the evening, but perhaps for this "private" event they close earlier? Are most of the rides open?

Permalink Reply by Deborah Cunefare on August 15, 2008 at 11:11pm: I haven't gone, but my kids have. :) They've all enjoyed it, all the families I've known who've gone have enjoyed it, most go year after year. Our yearly Not Back to School picnic is scheduled around Six Flags day because most of the families who come picnic also do the theme park thing.
