Anime movies

For whatever reason I seem to separate animated movies from anime series (although I tend to lump OVAs with the series and not view them as a stand alone movie).

At any rate - what animated movies from Asia do you like?

I think that all the movies that I have seen are Japanese. They are all Studio Ghibli films and they are generally very well known and all well done. Here were my favorites:

My Neighbor Totoro
Kiki's Delivery Service
Spirited Away

I was surprised that Panda Go Panda was a movie: I saw it but it seemed like 3 episodes. I guess Miyazaki did the storyboards for it waaaay back. It is cute and my kids really like it. If you want a good laugh, read some comments by american parents on netflix who are outraged and view it as incestuous. A baby panda and dad panda show up at a little girls house and they end up being sort of a family together with the dad panda as the dad to the girl and his actual child and the girl being the baby panda's mom. It was mind blowing to me that this could be viewed as incest. I remember being my brothers' "little mommy". To me, pretending they were my babies had absolutely nothing to do with my dad. At any rate, it's a cute little show.
