I thought it would be nice to have a collection of inspiring websites/blog that focus on photography.

One of my favorite blogs is 3191- a year of evenings. Two women - one lives in Portland, OR, the other in Portland, Maine - 3191 miles apart. They each post one photo most evenings. I love the simplicity of their images. Mostly just everyday stuff - cats and food and stuff like that. The images aren't always exceptional, but they usually are.

Wow. Wouldn't we have fun doing something like that? It would train the eye to see the unusual and the beautiful within the ordinary and the mundane. Very cool. Thanks for sharing this link.

I love Stuck in Customs.

He shows off his crazy HDR technique on this blog and he travels to exotic places. Win-win.

I like The Pioneer Woman's photography section for basic tutorials and info.

And Jessica Claire never fails to inspire.

There's a fellow whose son was in school with one of my children. Got to see him in action occasionally. But his portraiture just blows me away. Keep clicking through. The images get more and more imaginative, and yet they are still all about the subject.

Wow - who hasn't he shot? I especially love the one with Fred Rodgers next to the photo of his famous cardigan! (not that this particular photo of Mr. Rodgers is great, but I love that he shot the caridgan separately)

This is great, thanks for the link!

Oh my gosh - I've been stuck over on PW for hours already! Haven't even checked the other sites yet. I probably shouldn't be trying to read it all in one (foggy-brained) evening, but I just can't resist.

Thanks for the link!

I really enjoy Ken Rockwell's website. He's added a lot of ways to make money from the website that makes it a little annoying, but it still has a lot of great info. It isn't as simple and straightforward as Pioneer Woman, but if you are looking for lots of technical stuff, he's got it. I especially like the article, "Why Your Camera Doesn't Matter".

Me, too. There's everything there. Quirky and earthy. An honest and organic way to approach photography. Kindred spirits, yea! Thanks so much, Maya, for sharing this site! I loved Stuck in Customs, too. I'll be there for a while - need a bigger computer screen for them, though.

I love the edgier ones he shot possibly in Driftwood, TX, like with Jim Carey and I enjoy the Tim Roth photo, too. The odd context / environment seems to have beed created simply to support one aspect of the subject's personality. Does that make sense?

Stuck in Customs - well, that is HDR, isn't it? Wow. It's like Dave Hill's website TJ referred to earlier. Have you messed with HDR at all. I did once, but really didn't have the images to work with. Might have to try again.

OK, so I've been stuck in stuckincustoms for days. I even taught a kid who was over how to shoot using my fab 50mm lens and then make an amazing HDR out of it. I keep looking around for ways to utilize HDR in my shots. I love creative addictions.

Okay, now I have to ask - what does HDR stand for? I thought I'd find context eventually, but still don't know.

I'd been to his site before, but really started reading it after I saw the link to it here. It's pretty good! Lots of good stuff to read. The histogram info was really helpful to me.
