Great Photo websites/blogs

I thought it would be nice to have a collection of inspiring websites/blog that focus on photography.

One of my favorite blogs is 3191- a year of evenings. Two women - one lives in Portland, OR, the other in Portland, Maine - 3191 miles apart. They each post one photo most evenings. I love the simplicity of their images. Mostly just everyday stuff - cats and food and stuff like that. The images aren't always exceptional, but they usually are.

Ran across this after looking at Trey's photo for today on Stuck in Customs. I followed a link from one of the comments and found this dark, almost disturbing sets of portraits. However, the images are so compelling I had to look at every single one of them. But only once. Shiver.; ▶ Reply to This

Used by auto bracketing photos and processing them so you get all the brights and the shadows balanced beautifully (if done right) in a way that allows you to really see the subject and the context in a new way. Some proponents say it most accurately mimics what the eye sees, like in sunset situations, that the camera can't capture on just one exposure. But that's only when not overdone. And a lot of people really, really, really overdo their HDR processing.; ▶ Reply to This
