Hi... Were moving back the the NW after living in Bozeman, MT for the last 9 years. I have an almost 13 yr old boy and a brand new girl. Were hoping to make a lot of new friends!

Nice to find a group in the NW. We are fairly new to RU. It is a bit difficult to find unschoolers in the local area. It seems that the cybercommunity is the best place to find other unschoolers. Glad to find you.

Hello neighbors and like minded people! Glad to be here I have such an admiration for the unschoolers of the world, so glad to see the movement grow.

Ok - so I don't live in the PNW these days, but I was born in Corvallis and raised in Olympia and the NW is etched onto my soul! I attended LIG last year and hope to again next and I spend 5-6 weeks every year in Oly visiting friends and family. So I hope you'll take me in as I really am one of you : )

Hello PNW Unschoolers! I am new to the idea of unschooling and from what I understand, I am eager to learn more. I have a son who is about to enter Kindergarten and I am not thrilled about it. I would like to find an alternative to public school education, and I believe that he would be great at a self directed education. He is so eager to learn and already has so many fascinating interests, I just hope he has the time and space to explore them within and after his school day. I never looked into homeschooling, because the idea of me being his teacher and following a curriculum would just not work for either of us. I do like the idea of a schooling coop with other like minded families, does such a thing exist in Portland , OR ?

I am looking for any info or local resources on unschooling in Portland, if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks!
Kiné
