Good afternoon Rooters or maybe Shooters.

Anyway, I live in southern Calvert County with my husband and two homeschooled children. We began our homeschool journey in October, 2009. I find we spend much of our school day ebbing and flowing with what interests the kids. I had these grand ideas that I would stick to the amazing schedule my sister-in-law helped me make but in all honesty that doesn't always happen.

Now I realize many could say that as the homeschooling parent it is my duty to commit myself and my kids to the set schooling schedule we put in place, that I am in control. That allowing my children to decide what they want to learn and in what time frame and fashion is completely absurd. I currently sit on the fence truly.

My hope in being part of this group is that it will help me feel less like a failure as a homeschooling mother for faltering when it comes to THAT schedule and more of an amazing human being for dedicating myself to the children that the good Lord has allowed my husband and I to borrow.

I appreciate in advance all of the advice and helpful tips, tricks, and hints I will learn while here.
