Radical Unschoolers Network

the network for radical unschooling families

Hi all! Welcome WOWers! I am relatively new to WOW (my highest level toon is 28) but I am truly enjoying it. The rest of the family does too.

Come on in, introduce yourself and let us know what realms you are playing in. Thanks.

Well my main made it to lvl 68 yesterday! Yeah! I've been holding onto a piece of chest armor that one of the guildies gave me back in I think May, when I thought I'd be able to do 15 lvls in no time. lol

I thought I would mention a cool site called http://www.magelo.com . You download some software and you can then sync your characters in real time, and then put them on your blog or other website, and they will be updated whenever you sync them.

My guild Tha Knights Who Say Ni uses it, so we can keep track of what quests people are on--there are lots of features associated with this program.

Greetings players! I have alliance and horde characters. My horde are on The Venture Co. most are in The Horde of Unschoolers including Annarogue (70 sub rogue), Regain (65 marks hunter), Desumere (59 blood Dark Knight) and several others of lower level and are either in the HoU guild or not in a guild. My other server for my alliance characters is Alexstrazza and include a 55 rogue and a DK.
My son plays, he likes making characters more than he likes leveling them, but he recently received a 38 mage as a gift and seems to like playing her a lot.
My husband plays and has a hunter and a rogue in the Horde of Unschoolers.
We like to do family questing and dungeon runs.

Hello ya'll!!

I play WoW along with our two older boys, and our twins, age 10, are just now starting as well. The older boys decided they could handle sharing a bedroom so that we could convert one of them into a LAN room, and it's a lot of fun for us in the evenings. TV? what's that?

My main character is a Horde priest, Hannee, on Blackrock server. The boys are all Alliance characters, and mostly play on Cenarius. Our oldest son, Caleb, started playing about a month after release - it has been a great learning opportunity for him and the others. We had a discussion going one evening about leadership, and what it meant. His definition was simply, "Mom, it means taking responsibility for what your people do."

I have found games like this one to be great at developing the ability to work math problems in your head - your fingers are way too busy to use a calculator! When they're engaged in something they passionately enjoy, learning is effortless; more like a byproduct of experience.

And also, FOR THE HORDE!

We're trying to find kids who play on Shu'Halo realm, alliance characters. My daughter's main is Feldina, a night elf druid, lvl 62 (just yesterday!). She has other characters as well--one is Kuroony. My son sometimes plays Risel on that realm, but not a whole lot. Emily's just getting frustrated trying to find kids to play with during the day and I'm not really sure there's a safe way to ask in trade chat, lol.

Hi everyone. My husband, my two sons, and I all play WoW. I had read about the Horde of Unschoolers guild and I was hoping to find a guild of that nature for my 10yo son to join. I don't know about you but I feel much better knowing he is playing with other kids. Like another poster said it feels kind of dangerous to ask in trade chat if there are other kids playing and during the day there are mostly adults on anyway. Most of our toons are on Cairne. My husband's main is Bradus lvl 80, mine is Emmber lvl 57 and my 10yo's is Linque lvl 22. If there is a guild that is looking for new kid members on another server he would not mind making another toon :)

Nice to "meet" you all!

Hello All,

Call me Ken, I'm from Malaysia playing on an oceanic server Thaurissan LVL 80 Tauren Warrior. I find "Unschooling" a damn cool concept in which kids can have a safe environment to learn from. And am interested in knowing more. i believe this could be the tip of the iceberg where gaming can be accepted wholeheartedly as a new education platform. Would like to know how we can contact each other and discuss this awesome awesome idea.

I wish it was easy to hop from one server to another with our characters, because we'd love to be part of an unschooling guild. We are on the Draka server and have been completely addicted to WoW for about 3 years now. lol! The kid has several toons, I have 3 myself but my main is Angelandarose, Fire Mage lvl 76 1/2. lol! The kid is Horde, I am Alliance. Have you seen the new Mountain Dew Commercial? So cool! Anyway, just popped in to say HI and ENJOY your game!

Thought I'd add that Emily and I are playing a bit on Lightning's Blade server, where we have alliance characters. Mine is Bodicea, draenei warrior, and Emily has Blinkingmage, draenei mage, of course! She has other characters there, but I don't know their names yet. I just started this character a couple days ago.

I'll have to get their updated realms list. They play on several.
