Looking for hints

Hi Folks,
After playing for 11 months I might not be a noob in time, but I am still learning. Anyone have suggestions for macros, talents, $$, or tactics? I'd love to WATCH someone play and see how they do it. WOW is the ONLY gaming experience I have, so general advice also appreciated!

Permalink Reply by Robin B. on November 17, 2008 at 4:55pm: I don't know what race/class you play, but some things I've found helpful are Petopia (if you are a hunter), WowWiki for lots of information, the WoW class-specific forums (just Google those) and the strategy guides from Brady Games. My dd thinks more people should read the guides before they play :-).

If you could come to the Life is Good conference here in WA in May (I know it's a long way from FL), my dd is hosting a WoW funshop again this year. Lots of folks came in just to watch others play. You could, too!

So, here is my first specific question: When you are dueling a "live person" either in BG or Pvp, how do you stay with them when they move around a tremendous amount, esp if I am not a ranged character? I am getting quicker, but I don't seem to stay in range. I guess I am used to solo questing which is pretty stationary.

I use wowhead, Brady books (need to update to the lastest one released with WotLK new info in it) and WowWiki. I'll check out the forums.

Hi Wendy. :) Though my rogue now has a more (can't remember what it's called but I use it a lot) that allows her to move quickly between targets for up to 5 hits or something like that--if there's just one target I jut move quickly around him/her. Hamstring and any type of stun will help, but most likely you won't get far. I like TankSpot for their videos (especially once you are an 80) and you would probably enjoy the WOW armory. Look up other characters that are like what you want your character to be like (Mutiny guild has amazing toons) and see how they have their talent trees. That will help you a lot.
