About Sojourn

Homestays can be for an afternoon, a night, a week, or longer -- whatever works for the families involved! If you're interested in hosting other unschoolers in your home, treating them to a yummy meal, sharing a fun activity, or serving as a resource guide for unschoolers traveling through the area, then Sojourn is a place to make those connections. My hope is that we can create a network of unschooling families that traveling / vacationing / roadtripping unschoolers can use as a guide for where to find friendly faces and a place to stay for a bit or for a while! A homestay is whatever you make it! It can be a temporary stop along the way to another adventure or it can be a destination for unschoolers who want to "vacation" with another family for a while.

We live in Neptune Beach, FL (outskirts of Jacksonville). We're about 1/4-1/2 mile from the beach and about 2.5 hours from Disney. There are lots of things to do around here...watersports, nature trails, history stuff, etc, etc.

They would be more than happy to put folks up. Our students have all had awesome experiences with the families and they are really reasonably priced.

Our view across the street is of Seneca Lake, with some wonderful sunsets from the porch. We have several guest rooms and a finished basement with plenty of floor, two very comfortable futons and a full bath. Our boys are 3 and 7 right now and would really enjoy having company this summer. Get in touch if you are going to be in the area or passing through, you are welcome to visit.
