work at work dads with work at home moms and the unschool'd child

We're facing a bit of a dilemma with me working at work and my wife working at home not quite full time.

This leaves very little time for the spontaneous part of unschooling and really limits our 4 yo's exposure to other children (schooled or not).

Anyone else in a similar situation and how do you deal? Work/life suggestions? If not in a similar situation, so what? Ideas welcome.

Putting this out there to get some ideas flowing around in my brain.

My guys had a blast with a pick-up soccer team. They had one "coach" who knew what he was doing and a lot of parents who were willing to help out or play when/if needed. As far as I know, it was open to anyone who wanted to show up, but it was mostly unschoolers. It didn't take a lot of time (kids played for a 1/2 hour or so), and it was always a loose, fun atmosphere where the kids and parents could meet and socialize.

I know your time is at a minimum, but this was a great (and quick) way to keep contact with the folks around us.
