Hello everyone, just joint the group, would like to introduce myself, we live in Beaumaris in North Wales, and planning to move up to Edinburgh around March 2010. We have two children 2.5 years old and 11 months old, practicing attachment parenting, learning about unschooling as an alternative to mainstream education. Would like to find unschooling families in the area and also meet up with other unschoolers at organised events.

Hello - just finding my way around here, small steps at a time. I recognise a few names from the blog world :) I'm in Scotland, trying to unschool with my two and a half year old. My much older and grown children have all gone through school, so this is new territory for us. Glad to have found this group. xx

Would love to attend an unschoolers camp! My eldest is also just four, and I suspect would have felt much the same as yours about hesfes!

Yes we were there too! We really enjoyed it but the kids were probably a bit too young to get the most out of it - my eldest is just 4 and the baby is just 12months - the older one was a bit overwhelmed by the numbers of people around the marques and didnt want to do any of the activities - he made a little friend though and our tent became a bit of a nursery which was rather sweet! We loved camping too and cant wait to do it again! I would defintely like to go to hesfes again but would probably wait till at least the eldest is old enough and interested enough to want to join in more activities and stuff. Ja wood, further down in the comments, mentioned the idea of a smaller camp for uk unschoolers - this would be a good idea and would maybe suit more sensitive types like my ds who gets easily overwhelmed by lots of people!

We went and all 7 of us plus the 3 friends we brought with us had a fabulous time. I am already looking forward to next year. The kids all made new friends. I had a blast teaching Yoga every morning and met so many lovely people. I just finished posting my hesfes pics on my facebook!
