I see it has been quite a while since this group page has been active, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. We will be moving to Virginia Beach the first week of November and I was hoping to find a group to plug into. Does anyone know of any unschooling or even just open-minded homeschool groups in that area?

Hello Everyone! We are considering moving to central VA (Cville area) and would love to hear from RUers living in that area! I have an 8 and 5 year old and we will actually be in Cville from Oct 9- Nov. 6. Would anyone be interested in getting together? I love to hear an insiders take on being an RUer in VA :).

We're in Richmond and there are a ton of homeschoolers and a growing number of unschoolers too. I'm not super involved yet because my child is still young, but I know they are there.

There is a huge homeschool group here in Virginia Beach.
Several unschoolers, and other relaxed and eclectic homeschoolers.
There is a Norfolk Homescool Group
They have a park gathering every Thursday.

We are getting over a virus, but should be up for hanging out next week if your going to be out this way.

Hey Marianne! We're in Va Beach. Maybe we can set up a get together sometime. I don't mind driving. My girls are 5 and almost 3, and we're expecting #3 in May.

Greetings VA unschoolers! We are a family with 4 children (11, 10, 7, 5) and are very new to unschooling. We are on the Middle Peninsula and are trying to do some networking. Would love to hear from other unschooling parents about early experiences and what you did to get to a comfortable state with the process. - Marianne

I wish we could attend! It's so close for us! But Emily will be at NBTSC in VT then, and Eddie and Thomas and I are planning to find fun stuff to do in VT for the week. :( Have another one soon!

I'm new to the site. I'm in VA Beach. DH is coming around to the idea of HSing. I'm really falling in love with USing and wanted to learn more about RU :)

I've been looking for other groups around here to meet in person, but haven't had any luck.
