the network for radical unschooling families

Tell me this site is real! I haven't had much time to sort through the site, but hope that I understand correctly that there are several families in Wisconsin and a great group worldwide on here!
We have been rather isolated from like minded folks for a few years (since a move) and have been searching the web connections. We live in Wisconsin about an hour north of Milwaukee. We have 6 children under the age of 12 and would love to meet families that share our convictions and lifestyle.
We would like to raise our children in an environment that respects religion, but does not require a commitment to one. This is often not what we find in the traditional "homeschooling" circles.
Looking forward to seeing where the rest of "us" are out there!

Hi. I'm new here too. One child -- 8 y/o. We are more comfortable this year as "unschoolers". Excited to find like minded folks too. Our lifestyle is defined by exploration and learning -- joy seeking -- philosophically based in the golden rule. Looking forward to learning more from others.

Christy - Hi! Yes, there are many unschoolers in Wisconsin. I am mom to 2 boys, ages 6 1/2 and almost 5. We are in Madison, but travel around a bit to visit fairs, museums, events, etc.

I have found that a good percentage of 'homeschoolers' in our area are more religion focused, but 'unschoolers' are generally not. Just my experience. :)
