what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
To me, unschooling means allowing my kids to be individuals without getting in the way; simply loving & setting a positive example! Being a parent means being a leader & lover, not a boss! I feel that our children know what is best for themselves and their future is their decision. I wish that all children should be able to lead the lives they wish with a parent's unconditional support. Unschooling means living life as it comes, learning through exposure, never forcing ideas, yet letting the brains of the naturally brilliant and perfect children nature created sculpt their own future, without the hinderance and fear of parents' silly obligatory rules. I hope to learn more, I feel I know so little of unschooling because I was raised in an absolutely opposite manner. I plan, and try to remain positive and learn, learn, learn so I can help my little ones be everything THEY WANT to be!
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
My offspring are going to be 3 and 4 in December, so I guess since I learned about the concept when Ozzie, my son was about 18 months old and my daughter, Marley Jane was 6 months old...trying since then, but wanting some support! Trying to "re-raise" myself, so I can be more supportive of the two awesome children I get to experience, enjoy & learn from every day! It feels very frustrating some days because everywhere we go people are telling Ozzie and Marley what to do (perhaps because i am not, and trust them completely) to constantly "be careful!" or "watch out!" inducing fear & inhibiting them from following their natural path. I feel they know what is best for them and a parents job is unconditionally love & protect not force and create fear.

a little about me
I am a Home-maker and lover! My husband (christopher), children and I live a vegan & organic, peace- lovin' lifestyle. I am passionate about too many things to list! Love practicing yoga, making up fun vegan recipes, obsessed with nutrition, reading non-fiction (favorite authors are Joseph Chilton Pearce & Naomi Aldort), Chakric healing, Ayurvedic healing & homeopathic medicine, crystals & stones, playing around with all my essential oils, remaining mindful and aware (or trying!!!) & being compassionate (I have been told it is a flaw & strength... I tend to get very emotional about "too many" issues!). Love our shared planet, love spending all day at the beach watching Daddy surf & chasing our littles, hanging out with the fam doing whatever we decide for the day! Hold memberships at the Aquarium of the Pacific, Museum of Natural History in LA & La Brea Tar Pits, California Science Center, & LA Zoo (switching to the SD zoo & wild animal park in November), so we spend much time running around those joints!
