Most homeschoolers in my state do so for religious reasons, and maybe I fool myself thinking that my ethical reasons are somehow different from their religious ones. School is a coercive hierarchy filled with violence to the spirit and souls of little folk. I don't want my kids to learn a history that celebrates…

Thanks Alina! Yes, teens are definitely a misunderstood, often judged group of people. Very stigmatised. It's so exciting to be able to let them truly be themselves (or find out who the heck that is) and have the opportunity to change their self-defined personhood from day to day as they work it out.
