- I started homeschooling at the beginning of the year. I was a very traditional parent and teacher. After many tears and a great Christmas break I search for a way to homeschool and have a joyful home. And that is how I found unschooling. We started unschooling in January. And we all love it. In fact if we go to a store and I see what looks like a great "workbook" my oldest is quick to remind me that we don't homeschool, we unschool!

I'm so glad to be back. I've really been struggling on where I stand educationally and parenting wise. It has been a long road the last 4 to 6 months. Fears crept on of what if they are not learning? Don't you have to have math work books? What if state knocked on the door right now, what would I say we have been doing, how does that all fit into the hours and subjects we must do? So its Monday. But...you know what I have come to realize? Monday is a choice. As in how we will feel and react to Monday. Monday gets such a bad reputation. You say Monday and everyone huffs, not Monday. But we all have a choice rather it is a good Monday or just another Monday. I am going to choose to make my Monday a good Monday. I have to say that I am most pleased with how unschooling is going. The boys love it and I can see them growing in many ways. It does seem like we are on break. But not all at the same time.
