what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?: Living with my children with love and care; treating them as full humans while we learn, make mistakes, and grow together.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?: Fairly new to this since my children are young.

first names of children: Kaylee & Ben

a little about me: I am a wife and mother of 2 who moved to Texas a couple years ago. Currently (2012), my daughter Kaylee is 5 and my son Ben is 1.

I enjoy a bit of crafting and sewing as well as photography and, recently, Latin dance.

I found my way into unschooling because I worked at a preschool/childcare several years ago that used the High/Scope approach to learning (http://www.highscope.org/) and I saw no reason not to continue that sort of play-based, interest-led approach to learning beyond preschool. That was also my introduction into allowing kids to problem-solve and giving them respect for their space, their belongings, and their choices.

When I found out there was such a "thing" as unschooling, I was relieved to find a supportive community and I am learning more and more.
