Well, we're nearly done with our trip now, we have about a week left. We're in Clackamas, OR today, still visiting with family through probably Wednesday. After that, we'll be making our way home to Texas. We plan to head through Idaho, Wyoming, C...

If at all possible, do yourselves a favor and get Disneyland passes for more than one day. It is very crowded and difficult to do everything that you want to in just one day. It can be kind of pricey, yes, but it's still fun. Some fun exploring c...

We tend to wander a lot for exploring. We kind of randomly park some place and just walk about looking for interesting things...forests, cities, whatever. We usually start where we've been pointed or where we see a sign for something that looks in...

Sounds like fun! I think it would be good for us to visit Bellingham, actually. We were in a very serious car accident in Bellingham in Jan of '02 on the way home to Portland from visiting an aunt that lived in B.C. When I first read where you wer...

Oh yes, my husband's from Portland (that's where I found him)...I looove Powell's!!

Oh. While you are in Portland, OR, you MUST check out Powell's bookstore. It is the most amazing bookstore - ever! I could lose myself in there for days. Here is the link.

They're talking about closing the parks because of the mess that our state budget is in. As far as exploring, there is no shortage to explore in LA. If there is any specific type of thing you enjoy (hiking trails, cheesy tourist stuff, historic p...

Heading north from Portland, you could see both Seattle and Vancouver, BC (two NOT to be missed cities, if you haven't been)--with a stop between in BEAUTIFUL Bellingham, WA, where we are :) Hang out on the bay in the sun, visit the farmers market...

Cameron sat us all down and asked if Karma could be brought straight here from the trip and was that kosher. Our reply was that was fine. Our question was when?

Nah, we don't need no stinkin indepth conversation. GRIN. The thought that she would take a break and then return is something we could consider. 3-4 weeks in a stretch is still more time than we can handle for anyone else to come hang out in our house.

The usual. Less than a week, more than a couple of days.

OH, What Karma is doing is different than "our plans." I was envisioning something grandiose that you as a family had concocted. She had said that Karma was going to come over and stay a couple days upon your return. When would that be?

How wonderful you've been having fun. No, Cameron has not filled us in on any plans.

Makes sense. I was wondering how you were going to have fun travelling AND do your SELP project at the same time.

a little about me
Hmm, I am a passionate learner. I managed to make it through all 12 years of compulsory schooling, plus 3 extra my parents gave me, with my love of learning intact. I always said that if I ever won the lottery I would travel the world and be a professional college student. Now that I'm unschooling with my kids, I feel less need for formal classes, but would still love to travel the world.
