what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?

self-led child based learning, incorporating unschooling as a way of life not as just a timed event. Trusting in letting the child know what he/she need to learn and at what time. Providing encouragement to an interest the child shows and opening opportunities to the child that may stimulate an interest.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?

I homeschooled my oldest from 4th to 9th grade, then she decided to enter public highschool, she is 16 now. I was homeschooled from K-3rd. And I am currently looking into homeschooling for my 5yr old. I am very seriously investigating and totally leaning towards unschooling, not just because I like the principals/ideas behind it, but because I think it is the best fit for her (who shows gifted abilities).

a little about me

I am a graphic artist/web designer who does freelance. I went into school with the goal of working for myself so that I could stay at home and homeschool my youngest and last. I enjoyed being homeschooled as a child, though my mother did it more for religious reasons, I am interested in it for the psychological reasons, and the benefits of what it has to offer.
