"Hi Meredith, thanks for the reminder to keep things positive and light with regards to her dad. I know how much it hurts when my mom speaks poorly of my dad (and, really, what she says is REALLY mild and she rarely says anything) so I've always…"

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
This question is surprisingly hard to answer! I know what it means, but am finding it difficult to express. Our family tries to be gentle and kind in our dealings with each other and the world at large. We are curious, fun-loving, and housework-intolerant. :)
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
Since January 2009, but I've wanted to unschool since Bailey was 3 or 4. Just had to jump over some hurdles first!
first names of children
My girl Bailey, May 1999 and my boy Ocean, May 2009.
a little about me
I'm constantly changing and growing as I learn from my children. We have a wonderfully relaxed life, and we laugh lots.

Hi Bevin!
Good to meet you! The homeschooling community here is large and active and there are quite a number of unschoolers! There are park days all through the summer, and a couple different support groups. HLSA (Home Learning Society of Alberta) probably has the most unschoolers. Keep me posted on when you are coming and we can arrange to meet. Do you know yet whereabouts you will be living?

Hi Bevin! How exciting to have another unschooler in Kamloops! I've been hoping this would happen all year!

We moved here last April and started unschooling around that time. My son takes after his parents in that school just wasn't working for him. Once we found out about unschooling we breathed a sigh of relief and dove in head first. My only regret it that I didn't know this was an option earlier on. (That sounds like I started out with 100% confidence, which I didn't! LOL)

You must be excited about the little one on the way and all there is to look forward to with both kids! Just curious, what brought you to unschooling, if you don't mind me asking? Do you know someone who unschools? I met several really nice families from the region last fall, but other than that all my support has been from a couple of Yahoo lists!

Anyhow, great to meet you. Perhaps we can meet up sometime. We are in the downtown area but go in all directions at least once a week!
