Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
i believe that children (and all of us) learn all the time- through play, through daily life, etc. i believe in child led learning and seek to support my children's explorations of the world. we try to emphasize the freedom not license concept as well as create opportunities to explore and learn using an anti-oppression lens. rather than replicating the traditional model of compulsory education in the home, we strive to subvert and transform the way our whole family lives and learns.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
2 years
first names of children
Rowan, 2
Saoirse, 2 months
a little about me
a life-long radical and organizer, my experiences with transformative social movement work (and an amazing partner who has a background in education) brought me to unschooling when i had my first child. i am at home with my children full time and also work as an organizational development consultant and consensus facilitator. currently living in brooklyn and dreaming of a move to more wide open spaces and a more sustainable way of life.
