what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?

Radical in the sense of outside the box. I am learning with my children, about things that excite us and spark our curiosity naturally, not just text from a book or verbalized instructions regarding a set plan for the day or week, simply because "it's expected." I feel that unschooling provides a real-life atmosphere (because it simply is) for children to be involved in the decision making process of what and how they learn. It allows them to progress at a pace that is right for them, maximizing the areas they excell in, and spending more time in the weaker areas, at their own individual levels.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?

I've been guiding my children's growth all their lives. Officially unschooling for four days now.
