"Yes Sandra is correct there are many families in Edinburgh and around that have an unschooling approach. We have a ning network that brings us all together. It is a large network and I suppose we all have variations in our approach but…"

I am finally starting to get my nose above water after the move. I have only just managed to get broadband and internet working. I see that you have been in communication with Bruce my ex. We have recently seperated and are sharing custody equally. The boys stay one week with me in Edinburgh and one week with him in Linlithgow. It is going suprisingly well and the boys have adjusted to it quite nicely. The boys and I would love to meet up with you and /or other group members. Denise
we moved up to Edinburgh, Liberton area, and would like to connect with other radical unschooling families. At the moment, we don't know any other families with children and I have difficulties finding parent and toddler groups, where I can bring my both children (1 and almost 3 years old) and stay with them to do fun things like singing, story telling, climbing and jumping and crafts. There were many choices of such playgeoups in North Wales where we lived before, but here I cannot find things like this; I could find playgroups where you need to leave your child for 2 hours, or tumble tots where I cannot bring both children to the same class, they would need to go to separate classes. so if you have any advise about where do perents with children meet on a regular basis, it would be great.
I also would so much like to meet with real radical unschooling families, because we only recently learned about RU and it appeals to me, and I would like to learn more about it.
So please let me know, and looking forward to meeting you.
Hi Chelle, it would be great to meet up and connect. We've just been to Edinburgh for a week and found a flat to rent, will be moving at the end of February. We will be based in the south, in Liberton. You said you have a privat network and would first make sure that we are real home eds, but our children are to young to go school so not sure how we are going to prove we are real :-) Would love to meet up sometimes early March. Cheers, Olga
Oh I am sorry I let this message fall down to the bottom of my inbox, but then I remembered, so hi again :-)
I hope your move went well and the weather did not scupper you.
I would love to meet up with you sometime, I have two kids Emily 8 and Alex 4
I am off on a trip next week so perhaps after that. There is a meet up for new members the last Friday of each month, but perhaps we could meet up sooner. Can I add you as a friend and we can figure something out with private messages?
Thanks for your response. Myself and the boys would be very grateful for some homeschooler connections. I am moving into my flat in Stockbridge this weekend and would be very happy to meet up in the next few weeks.
I am very interested in connecting with unschooling groups in Edinburgh. I am moving to Stockbridge in a few weeks time. I have 2 lovely non sexist, non age-ist unschooled boys aged 10 and 7.
Hi Chelle, I used to live in edinburgh and planning to return there in march 2010. would like to keep in touch, as it would be extremely useful to meet a real unschooling family to see what it is like!
Hi Chelle - Thanks for the welcome. I am in Armadale, about 20 miles away. Great to know there is someone else nearby :) How interesting that you are starting up a local network. I am very much a novice at this, and, although I have been blogging for a wee while now, I like the community feeling of this site.
