I've been lurking in one of my unschooling yahoo groups during a discussion of books. The gist of the ideas shared was that all types of books, be they standard novels, graphic novels or comic books, have positive value & offer the reader wonderful ways of expressing ideas & stories.

Wow - we got snow over night. Lots of snow - maybe a foot or more. The area schools & town offices announced closures yesterday in anticipation.

My son is a sweet & sensitive boy. As he quickly approaches the age of 12, his height, his looks, everything tells me that it is just a matter of time before he begins the serious change into adulthood. Yet his soft cheeks & huge brown eyes are just as they have always been since he was my little nursling.

We just got back from the extended part of our L&L vacation. My kids take swordfighting/adventure classes at a place called Guard Up, in a neighboring town. The kids are friends with the other kids in the classes (they all went to the residential summer camp together this year), so they really look forward to their time at Guard Up.
