This is the part of New Mexico I grew up in, north central. If you click it to enlarge, and you look up on the hillside on the upper right (not upper left, which I posted the first time; sorry), that reddish stuff is scrub oak. There's some in and under the trees, too, no doubt, but not much. And see how the road is all sunny and hot? Yeah. That's what fall looks like in New Mexico. But it smells like green chile roasting, and like apples, up north sometimes.
