what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?

Radical Unschooling to me means letting my children grow in freedom to become confident, capable adults.It means giving my children choices about their own lives.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?

We have been unschooling (with some straying in the middle years) for thirteen years. Our oldest two sons made the decision to attend the local highschool for social reasons, as we live in a very rural area. The oldest is talking about coming home next year.

a little about me

I love being with my children, first and foremost. We love science and nature-anything outdoors, computers, games, the beach(who doesn't?) We are a Catholic family and have chosen to pursue education at home in freedom. For a long time we "unschooled" in everything but math, but after reading Sandra's first book, we ditched the mandatory math. Life is much better now. It's amazing how just enforcing one subject spoils the whole shebang. I'm rambling! We are happily, fully unschooling now!
