my 17 yr. old is in public school, he will graduate next year. my 14 yr. old is in 8th gr. in public school, but will start homeschooling this fall for "9th gr." i homeschooled the boys for a few years when they were younger but unfortunately they have mostly been public schooled. my oldest is fine w/ it, but the younger is ready to be self-taught. i just found out about unschooling a few years ago. i have been "unschooling" my 5yr. old daughter since the conf. last year. i would love to go again this year but it is ALOT of $$! i can buy ALOT of books on the subject w/ the money i would spend on the conf. since i've joined planofun i feel like i have a great support group. my husband isn't as free-thinking as i am, so i'm having to take it slow and be low-key about it. my oldest son plays acoustic and electric guitar. he is in the youth band at our church. my 14 yro. tried the drums, but the cheapy drumset we bought them broke. he wants to be a chef. both boys like to make their own "movies" and post them on you-tube.
