"If he is enjoys Star Wars I would think he is ready for the movies for sure. As for the books, he might be ready for them. If he is interested, I have a suggestion that my son always liked(and still does at 11)...set it up so he can listen to them…"

Exploration

We went to a little one screen theater here in Vancouver this afternoon. It plays second run movies for pretty cheap prices. The three of us were able to see Twilight for what it would have cost for just one of us someplace else. Yes, we are a bit behind the times. But I don't care.I think that old style movie house is going to become one of my favorite places about this city. Being relatively new to the area we are still exploring. I am not a mainstream new and shiny kind of person anyway. My…See More

Learning Squared

This morning, while I am working on my programming schoolwork, Jeremy is doing a project I found on the internet a while back. i think we finally just had everything on had to do it. He is making ice cream in a baggie. I found it here : http://chemistry.about.com/cs/howtos/a/aa020404a.htmHe is still shaking it...I can't wait to see how it turns out...About 15 minutes after original post: OMG that was awesome tasting. Jeremy is already thinking of flavors that could be added to make flavored ice…See More

"Hello. We have always lived in Washington and have always unschooled. It is not hard here because other then filing with the school district once a year...in September or whenever you start...the schools can't question you in any way. The…"

Unbalanced

I have been back in college for nearly a month and feel like nothing is getting my full attention. My kids are independent, but I still feel like I am slighting them somehow. They don't think so...I have asked. I am stuck in this triangle of when I have doing something I feel like I should be doing something else.Hanging out with kids =feel like I should be working on school work or cleaning house.School work = feel like I should be doing something with one or both kids or cleaning…See More

Hi Emi,
Thanks for your comment and connection. Yes, funny I got a comment about never throwing out workbooks. That I should see them as games and puzzles. It's hard to do as school-filtered as I can be, but I am excited to shift my perspective!

Ah that explains it - it is the same artist. It has been a while since I have seen Inuyasha and I thought of the main character in Ranma 1/2... although the cat doesn't look quite like shampoo and there is no way they would snuggle as they are rivals so I probably should have known better. Thanks for letting me know who they are :)

I was looking at the new members of the Washington group and I saw your picture. That is a picture of Akane and Shampoo, right? I love Ranma ^^ There is also an Otaku group here, in case you are interested.
