what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
teaching and learning at our pace
Being able to have the child learn what they would like to learn about.
The ability to NOT be turned off by learning. The desire to want to pick up any topic or book and be encouraged to work at it even if it is above ones head. Not to be discouraged but helped to bloom.

My children live their life and I let life teach them what they need to know.

Why did it take so long

Oh why did it take so long to find this group? I've been on the net since 1998. I've read about home schooling for about that long. I've read many blogs, websites and books about home school and unschool.

I ended up registering my child home school through the district.

However after a year, I I finally discovered Florida Unschoolers website. It had taken too long to find. I had anxiety just being registered with the district and worried about evaluations or testing. The kids… Continue

Sometimes it can help to read "around" other discussions and get a general feel of the style of various regular writers.
