Heather, sorry we haven't connected Michelle and Holden yet. M has the flu and is sneezing and coughing. Not really feeling up to much WoW talking . I'll keep you posted.

We don't have skype, but we'll figure something out. Tomorrow, then....

Michelle is awake, but not awake, if you know what I mean! It may work better to try for tomorrow, now, if Holden would be okay with that.

Michelle's still asleep (busy, happy weekend) and she's a-stay-up-late kid. It's 2:15 here, so she should be awake soon enough. I'll get back to you .

Hey, Heather,

I checked with Jill about using Ventrilo on Horde of Unschoolers. I guess most people use Skype. Michelle used Ventrilo on her other server and guild. I'll check into how we get Venture Co. and the Horde of Unschoolers onto Ventrilo, sometime today. I'll keep you posted.

Michelle is still asleep, so I can also let you know when she's up and ready to play.

Hey, Heather,

Here's the info on the realm and guild (Michelle can invite him to join - Jill Parmer and her family play regularly there, too):
Realm: The Venture Co.
Guild name: Horde of Unschoolers

Michelle's toon is Varadoria, a blood elf huntress (beast mastery) Level 44.

Here's the site for Ventrilo, too:
http://www.ventrilo.com/

I see you are coming to Life is Good! Michelle is hosting a WoW funshop, so she and Holden can meet irl!

I think Tuesday and beyond sometime could work to connect them. You can give me a heads-up here, if you like, when Holden is ready to play. We're in WA, so 2 hours behind you.

Cheers,
Robin

P.S. I see you visited with Alex in Minnesota! I would love to meet her and her family sometime....

Cole just about fell over when he saw a pic of "Lucky" (the butterfly from the picnic). Grateful our paths have crossed again. No coincidences, only connections...

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Radical unschooling means not using curriculum and letting my boys lead the way in all their joyful adventures. Learning is a byproduct of a happy life. Not something I force on them.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
We started learning everything we could about homeschooling when our oldest (now 6) was about 1 (2002). We became very interested in unschooling in 2003. We have never looked backed.
names and ages of children
Holden--12-9-2001
Camden--10-4-2004
a little about me
I love unschooling and being with my boys and husband. I grew up in Houston, Texas. I moved away in 1990. We've lived in Montana a few years and are now in central Iowa. We love to travel and have fun!

I love to cook, go on walks, visit parks, meet new friends, I don't sew, knit, or craft, I love nature, I love garage sales, I love live music (but don't see it often anymore), I love to write, and I love to read!

Gypsy mama and kids in search of sunny shores

I am itching to trade some beautiful antique Japanese dolls for something bigger and better (like trading up to an RV or bus conversion). We started with a small Matchbox bus a few years ago. My husband is going to college full-time, but I am itching to hit the open road with my two boys and the dog. We want to travel during his breaks, and I'd like to travel full-time for a few years as a family at some point.

Right now we own a house near Des Moines, Iowa. We've lived here for 6 years. I love… Continue

My ears are ringing

I knew this day would get here. I just didn't expect it to be today. Our son, Holden, wants to get his left ear pierced. He expressed an interest when he was about 5, but let it go, and never mentioned it again. Until today. He will be 7 in December. He asked me how he could get a loop earring. He wants to get his ear pierced soon, as in right now. My husband and I want him to think about it a few more days to be sure he is sure. We watched some youtubes of other boys getting "it" done. Holden i… Continue

Our Minnesota Unschooling Hoorah!

We had a really awesome weekend visiting friends in Minnesota. We visited with two families. One family lives on a dairy farm with about 200 Holstein cows and two kids (one boy and one girl). The mom is from Rio, Brazil. Her husband is from Minnesota. It was such a wonderful experience staying with them. They were hospitable and a lot of fun! We toured the dairy farms a few times. We ran from the bull that NEVER gets loose. We went to beautiful White Water State Park. Nothing out of the ordinary… Continue

Dog days joy to share w/ the carnie fans!

Dog days of summer are here <=click to read post on Blogspot (sorry for being a pain).

I was going to paste this post here but then I would have needed to upload the photos here as well (too time consuming for me at the moment). They did not paste in from my blogspot. It gives you a little bit of an idea what a partial day may look like here. We have two boys who are Holden, 6.5, the other is Camd… Continue
