Unschooling in Martin County

Hey all - we just moved to Stuart and are looking to connect with other open-minded homeschoolers/unschoolers and perhaps have a get together once a week. Anyone out there? :) My boys are 7 and 4, btw.

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?

For me, it means letting my children set the tone for the day. If that means we spend the day on the beach, or in bed reading books, or playing chess, then so be it. Keeping my children's innocence and love for learning strong is why we homeschool.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?

We have been relaxed homeschooling for 2 years.

We are in Hobe Sound. My kids are older -- 14 and 16 -- but there are a couple of unschooling families around.

The TreasureCoastFunschoolers are no longer but a couple of us still get together randomly.

Also be sure to look for the UnschoolPB Yahoo group -- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unschoolPB/ Look for Maggy Wurm.

They seem to have a bunch of activities and we've ventured down a couple of times to join the fun.
