what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
It means something I'm not doing but am interested in exploring. It means being radically radical which may be too much for me but has been known to be just fine for me sometimes in my life. Not sure about my position but am certainly open to the notion.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
2 years? 4 years? depends how we define it starting... always?
first names of children
Arielle 1, Naomi 4
a little about me
i'm a musician/composer/singer/songwriter guy who thinks school is cruel quite a bit of the time

Jacob, welcome to the strange and wonderful world of unschooling discussion lists! Its a trip, that's for sure. I wanted to reassure you that many long time radical unschoolers have started in a similar "place" to yours, with lots of fears and worries - we're a skeptical bunch for the most part, hence all our advice to each other to "Trust!" Its an effort.
I lived with no tv at all for years before I had my dd - my stepson, Ray lived with no tv for most of his early life with few ill effects ;) and we eased into tv. Its okay to ease into things. It gives you time to build some of that "Trust!" in bite sized pieces, instead of having to swallow the whole kitten caboodle. Take your time, and keep questioning everything.
